Frequently asked questions.

Regarding myself.

Q: "When you say you were sponsored by Rose, do you mean THAT Rose?"

A: Former Chairman, attempted initiator of the Darkest Day, and all-around dodgy person? Yes, the very same. However, I prefer to not speak of that time in my life.

Q: "I heard that you testified against Rose in his sentencing! Can I ask you about that?"

A: No.

Q: "What's with the controversy regarding yourself and the League Card manufacturers?"

A: Essentially, the company did not bother to get my approval before printing a piece of information regarding my family that I had wished to keep private onto the League Card I was issued during my Gym Challenge. Thankfully, my complaining about this issue, as a public figure, got them to instate a policy which stated that no League Card design or text would be finalized without approval from the subject. Despite this, I remain distrusting of their brand.

Q: "You say that your pronouns are he/him and fae/faer, so why have I heard other people call you she/her?"

A: I allow very few select people to use those for me, as I trust that they use them while seeing me how I wish to be seen. If you do not know me personally, you are not one of those select few people, so please refrain.

Q: "Where can I find information about making an appointment to battle you?"

A: Please check the official website of the Galar Gym Challenge.

Q: "Can I battle you without an appointment?"

A: If you're a Gym Challenger, you may not. Otherwise, it depends on the day, who you are, and how much free time I have.

Q: "Do specialize in Fairy-types? *wink wink nudge nudge*"

A: You are not funny. But, for the sake of answering this... For the literal meaning - yes. You can assume this based off of the fact that I am a Fairy-type Gym Leader. For the metaphorical meaning - also yes. You can assume this based off of the fact that I have a boyfriend.

Regarding Fairy-types.

Q: "Is a Fairy-type the right pick for myself, or someone I know, for a partner Pokemon?"

A: Every individual Fairy-type Pokemon species is different. And even then, everything that you can say about a species of Pokemon is nothing more than a generalization, as each individual Pokemon comes with their own personality and quirks.

However, if I simply must give blanket recommendations: if you can find it, Clefairy is a good companion for young children living at home, due to its playful and peaceful demeanor. I would not evolve it until said children have become less boisterous, though. Snubbull are also excellent as companions - don't let its scary face fool you.

If you are looking to become a serious Trainer, I'd generally recommend looking into Ralts. If you're able to catch one, it is able to evolve into Gardevoir. Gardevoir is an excellent user of Moonblast and Psyshock. Additionally, it has great support moves like Healing Wish and Trick, as well as great abilities in Trace and Synchronize. It can also evolve into Gallade and, while it's not a Fairy-type, it is a powerhouse in its own right. Additionally, I'd recommend considering Tinkaton. They're known to be unruly if caught at their final stage, but raise it from a Tinkatink or a Tinkatuff, and you'll have a loyal and powerful partner, with only two type weaknesses.

Q: "Why do I hear people saying that Fairy-types aren't real, or are just Psychic-types?"

A: That's likely just a member of the older generation, miffed that the type chart changed. That is considered a conspiracy theory for folks who have lost the plot. Disregard.

Q: "What connection does the Fairy type have to the fairy egg group?"

A: For the most part, they just happen to share a name. That said, a large amount of Pokemon in the fairy egg group, which were previously labeled as another typing, were discovered to be Fairy-types.

Q: "Does the Fairy-type's existence mean that the fae are real?"

A: That is a hotly-debated topic. The general consensus for the public seems to be 'no'. However, the consensus for those who specialize in Fairy-types seems to be 'yes'. The opinions of researchers are mixed. I'd recommend looking into the topic for yourself, with a focus on peer-reviewed information, and an open mind.

If you're looking for my own opinion, though: I personally believe that Fairy-types channel their powers from the fae, yes. Ms Opal and I both dabble in working with the fae, as well, though this is only because Ms Opal always watches over me, and she is very experienced. This practice is very dangerous to newcomers, so I can't recommend it.
